Responding to the natural rhythm of the farm, our Unit Studies rotate seasonally and serve as thematic anchors for integrated learning. Inspired by Montessori principles, these studies encourage curiosity, hands-on exploration, and connections across subjects, allowing children to immerse themselves in meaningful, real-world experiences that reflect the cycles of nature and life on the farm!
Unit: Foraging + Plant Identification of the Palouse
Wednesdays, September 10, 17, 24, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Put on your explorer hat and become a nature detective! We'll learn to identify and forage for wild plants on the Palouse, taste our finds, and craft them into medicinal teas, syrups, and jams.

Gear up for adventure! Students will gain hands-on survival skills including shelter building, fire starting, cooking over open flame, water filtration, compass navigation, and crafting simple tools from the wild.

Take a journey into pioneer-era living where kids explore sourdough baking, food preservation, animal stewardship, and homesteading through farm-to-table experiences.
